Spent a couple of days immersed in the amazing people, companies and drams that make Scotland’s whisky best in the world. Judging in the Scottish final of the 2026 World Whiskies Awards at the fascinating Scotch Whisky Experience. Comparing notes and having in depth debates about the ridiculous levels of tax and lack of support for one of Scotland’s most important sectors. Then to the awards ceremony at the Signet Library where the we celebrated the success of many whisky distillers, coopers, brand ambassadors and company owners. A night of celebration. Let’s keep the ‘whisky’ conversation going. It’s a wonderful product. Thanks to Jamie at One Cask at a Time, for hosting me on their table. It's been a busy week for the team! 🥃
Ewan headed up for Dornoch's 10th annual whisky festival, representing Signatory Vintage. It was a great opportunity to meet and network with other Independent Bottlers (and try their whiskies 😉) and whisky enthusiasts.
On Sunday, he hosted a cask strength Signatory Vintage whisky tasting, in the Dornoch Castle Hotel, where lots of whisky chat, stories, and great drams were shared.
We also had John hosting a tasting for 19 people at the picturesque setting of Port an Eilean, showcasing a great range of whiskies and gins.
